Communication concerning the Plenary Session of the Curia held on the twenty-fourth of November 2014

On the invitation of the Curia and the Budapest Bar Association, Prof. Dr. Dr.h.c. Gerd Brudermüller, Head of the Family Law Panel of the Regional Appellate Court of Karlsruhe, paid a visit to Budapest and was received by the Curia on 13 November 2014 to deliver a private lecture on the German matrimonial property law.
On the invitation of Truong Hoa Binh, President of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam, the Curia’s delegation, led by Chief Justice Dr. Péter Darák, paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam between 9-15 November 2014.
The President of the Curia paid an official visit to Washington D.C. between 20 and 24 October 2014.
During his visit, Dr. Péter Darák held discussions with John Roberts, Chief Justice of the United States, Edwin Meese, former Attorney General of the United States and Anthony Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States.
In addition, President Darák participated and gave a lecture at the 5th Assembly of the International Association of Tax Judges.

The Curia of Hungary hosted a two-day long international conference for environmental law judges, the 11th Annual Conference of the European Union Forum of Judges for the Environment (EUFJE).
The Forum holds its annual conferences in a different EU Member State each year. It was the very first time that an EUFJE Conference took place in Budapest, Hungary. This year’s conference topic was “Impact assessments and preventive measures against significant environmental impacts in the 21st century”.
