Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia inaugurated a public monument, erected as a tribute to those who fought for Hungary during the 1956 revolution and freedom fight, in a park adjacent to Budapest Street in Madrid on 19 October 2016. Later on that day, President Darák delivered a speech and bestowed decorations at a tribute concert and national day reception held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1956 revolution and freedom fight.
On 30 September and 1 October 2016, the Curia’s two-member delegation, led by Chief Justice Mr. Péter Darák, participated in the 7th Assembly and Conference of the International Association of Tax Judges held in Madrid.
The event was hosted by the Supreme Court of Spain. The conference participants discussed the following topics: tax base erosion and profit shifting (OECD and BEPS), caseload control in tax matters, tax procedures in Spain, the courts’ case-law in tax matters and in value added tax cases, as well as human rights and taxation.
At the invitation of the President of the Curia, the delegation of the Federal Court of Justice of Germany paid an official visit to Budapest on 25-27 September 2016. The delegation was led by Ms. Bettina Limperg, President of the Federal Court of Justice.
The delegation held discussions with the court leaders of the Curia and attended a two-day seminar with the participation of some of the judges of the German supreme judicial forum and of the Curia of Hungary. The seminar was focused on the procedure of judicial review.

On the invitation of Mr. Vyacheslav Mihailovich Lebedev, President of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation, the Curia’s delegation, led by Chief Justice Dr. Péter Darák, paid official visits to Moscow and Saint Petersburg between 10 and 14 July 2016.
