Inauguration of a public monument erected as a tribute to those who fought for Hungary during the 1956 revolution and freedom fight and the 8th Conference of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union in Madrid

Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia inaugurated a public monument, erected as a tribute to those who fought for Hungary during the 1956 revolution and freedom fight, in a park adjacent to Budapest Street in Madrid on 19 October 2016. Later on that day, President Darák delivered a speech and bestowed decorations at a tribute concert and national day reception held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 1956 revolution and freedom fight.

On 20-22 October 2016, a Curia delegation led by President Darák attended the 8th Conference of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union in the premises of the Supreme Court of Spain.

At their meeting, the leaders of the supreme judicial forums of the European Union discussed two main topics: i. mediation and methods of alternative dispute resolution and ii. the role of supreme courts in the development of the law.
