Official visit of the President of the Curia of Hungary and his delegation to the People’s Republic of China

Based on the invitation of Mr. Zhou Qiang, President of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China, Dr. Péter Darák, President of the Curia of Hungary and his judicial delegation paid an official visit to the People’s Republic of China on 18-23 May 2014. The Hungarian delegation visited the Chinese supreme judicial body and other judicial institutions in Beijing and subsequently had the opportunity to get an insight into the activities of the High People’s Court in Shanghai.

The President of the Curia of Hungary and his Chinese partners conducted negotiations on the need for research co-operation, judicial study visits in the two countries, as well as a general exchange of information concerning the Chinese and Hungarian court systems. The Chinese side was particularly interested in learning more about the co-operation between the Hungarian judiciary and the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights.
