Dr. István Kónya, Vice President of the Curia of Hungary, represented the Curia at the Conference of the Presidents of the Supreme Courts of China and the Central and Eastern European Countries, held from 3 to 8 May 2016 in Suzhou and Beijing as a step in the process of widening the cooperation already existing in the field of economics between China and the Central and Eastern European Countries (16+1 cooperation) into the area of justice.
The conference addressed the following topics: judicial reforms; the transparency of courts; applying information technology in courts; alternative dispute resolution; the role of supreme courts in the unification of the judicial practice.
During the conference dr. István Kónya had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Zhou Qiang, Chief Justice, President of the Supreme People’s Court of the People’s Republic of China and gave a presentation about the Curia activities carried out for ensuring the unified application of law in Hungary.
