The judges and senior advisors of the Curia of Hungary were given the opportunity to become acquainted with the main aspects of the use of efficient legal argumentation techniques and with the Australian system of adjudication of tax cases. On the invitation of Dr. Péter Darák, the President of Hungary’s supreme judicial forum, the Honourable Mr. Tony Pagone and Ms. Jennifer Davies, Justices of the Federal Court of Australia, specialised in tax law cases, paid an official visit to the Curia on 2-3 October 2017.
In the afternoon of 2 October, the invited Justices delivered presentations for the Curia’s senior advisors on the use of efficient legal argumentation techniques and the drafting of court decisions.
In the morning of 3 October, the Australian guests gave lectures for the Curia’s tax law judges and clerks, as well as the representatives of the Financial Law Department of ELTE University and the National Tax and Customs Administration of Hungary on the Australian system of adjudication of tax cases.
