The 2022 Budapest Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition was co-hosted by the Curia of Hungary and the 7-8 May competition rounds were held in the courtrooms of the supreme judicial forum of Hungary.

The Central and Eastern European Moot Court Competition was founded in 1994 by the British Law Centre with a view to enabling teams of law students to develop mooting and presentational skills in a simulated EU court forum where they are judged by EU experts.

Teams from Bulgaria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine took part in the 2022 Budapest competition, to find themselves competing before a panel of judges comprised of experts from the Court of Justice of the European Union, the EFTA Surveillance Authority and the European Commission, the world of academia and professional legal community. This time, the team from the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana was the most successful in the competition.
